About Estepona |
Estepona was put on the Spanish map at a similar time to Marbella. In the 1960's package tour started coming to the Costa del Sol and every since it has be reknown for its excellent location and less flashy appearance. Estepona province covers a large section of coast up to San Pedro, Benahavis and down to Casares. It encompasses many golf courses, established urbanisations as well as many new developments and new areas. The town itself started life as a fishing village, but in recent years it has grown into an understated place to visit. The old town is full of winding streets and little cafes. The front has been recently refurbished and as such looks fantastic. The upgrades included under ground parking on the east side of the town to cope with current tourist numbers and a growing population, new commercial centres and even the round abouts have been spruced up!
The marina sits on the west end of the town and is separate from the main commerce area. It has many restaurants and new supermarkets. There are some fine beachs on this side too including La Rada Beach. There are plans to expand the marina in a few years time, which will bring new life to the area and will increase the commerce potential of the town. With many people already choosing Estepona over the Glitzy life of Marbella and Puerto Banus, it is one to what as a long term investment in Property.
Again it sits in between
many of the other areas making it central between Alcaidesa and
