About Casares |
Casares town is built into the mountainside, with beautiful views from its vista points over Gibraltar and Morocco Atlas Mountains. A picturesque old town looked over by a small castle perched high above the main square. This whitewashed villlage is visited by many tourists and is one of the most photograped towns in Andalucia. On the casares road up from the coast you can find a selection of excellent restaurants from Venta Victoria (Spanish Cuisine), Arroyo Honda and The Forge (Good Sunday Dinner).
Casares is a good 15 minutes drive from the coast and the Casares Costa has undergone a massive change over the last few years. With many golf courses planned and two up and open already this is set to become the new golf valley in the new golden mile! The Dona Julia resort with Hyatt hotel complex is going to set the standard for the area and with other 5 star resort hotels planned this area is going to see an upgrade in status. Casares now has a La Perla Bar Bar on the beach donw near the presitgious La Perla de la Bahia resort, which does a excellent range of food, for those lazy days on the beach.
Casares can be reached from Manilva (Duquesa) and the Casares costa road. It is 15 minutes from the lovely marina of Duquesa and 15 minutes from Estepona. So is well located for those looking for a brand new five star area or the quiet country life.
The Sotogrande resort is also not far away boasting some of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol.
