The Costa Blanca or White Coast is
a popular tourist region, which stretches the length of Spain’s
eastern Mediterranean coastline from Valencia to Cartagena. It
offers something for everyone like two sides of a coin, to the
north lush, fertile valleys slant down to the sea nestled against
a backdrop of mountainous terrain. In contrast the South is an
expanse of plains reaching as far as the eye can see, while temperate
waters compliment the endless palm trees lining the promenades.
From world-class cities to familiar
resorts 24 hours a day your time can be occupied, from picturesque
hilltop villages, like Altea and Calpe where the life seems locked
in time to Benidorm, where its huge range of leisure amenities
explain why it continues to be the Costa Blanca's main tourist
area. The Costa Blanca enjoys a year-round mild climate, especially
good for sufferers of arthritis and takes it name from the extensive
clean, white sandy beaches that are family friendly.

Costa Blanca is well connected by the principal airport of Alicante, a beautifully Spanish city and just south of the airport lays the resort of Torrevieja. The salt and the sea are inseparable elements, which have marked the history and determine the present-day reality of Torrevieja. La Mata salt-flats today produce about a million tons of salt, mostly exported, making it the prime European salt-producer and its lakes have been declared a Nature Reserve due to their wetland ecosystem and for the ecological habitat they provide for migratory and nesting birds. Many new developments are currently being built in and around the Torrevieja region, and property prices are expected to increase over the coming years, in line with new golf courses and improved infrastructure. In addition, as popularity in the renowned sports and golf complex of La Manga continues to grow, property prices around this area tend to be higher than further north.
Greeks, Romans, Carthaginians, Phoenicians and Moors have all left their mark. The two historic cities of Murcia and Cartagena offer insights into everyday Spanish life, as well as a rich legacy of art and contrasting cultures. Along the coast, Altea is considered one of Costa Blanca’s most beautiful towns with it’s medieval cobbled streets leading up to the blue-domed church and plaza which features one of the best views on the Costa Blanca.

Finally, fun for all the family, the Terramitica theme park offers something for everyone: shows, thrill rides and rides for the little ones.
The world health council has stated that the region is one of the healthiest places in the world to live and with more than 320 days of sunshine and an average temperature of 19 degrees, its quite understandable!
