One of Europe's favourite Mediterranean holiday regions, the vast Costa del Sol or 'Sun Coast' extends along the 161 kilometres of coastline from the Costa Tropical south of Granada to the tip of Tarifa past the Straits of Gibraltar, which is the door to the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean.
