The Bahamas is a 700 island Caribbean archipelago, located 55 miles off mainland Florida. An established country, the Bahamas has a developed infrastructure with electricity water and telephony services all in abundant supply.
The Bahamian Dollar is virtually the same as the US dollars and as such overseas property investors can take advantage of the weaker dollar. The Bahamas also offers no corporate taxes (if you were to set up a business) or income taxes.
The Caribbean is a year round destination and the Bahamas is no exception to this. The islands have every facility and amenity available and attract an affluent crowd. Nassau is the Bahamian capital a bustling hub of activity. It houses a beautiful sheltered harbour and historic architecture with cathedrals, colonial mansions and 18th-century fortresses. Two large bridges connect Paradise Island to the city of Nassau. The island has been developed to cater for travellers, with luxury resorts, grand hotels, fine dining, shopping malls, an 18 hole golf course, an aquarium, and a casino to try your luck. Development is limited and as such there are very few complexes on the island. The Grand Bahama Island is the fourth largest and is a unique destination. It offers visitors cosmopolitan vacations on world-class resorts with the quaintness of historical fishing villages and secluded bays. Eleuthera is another island that we have developments on and is located 200 miles from Florida and about 60 miles from Nassau. A picturesque island of coral and sand dunes, this is a laid back island with a casual pace to life.
UK passport holders can stay on the Islands for up to 8 months of the year without needing to apply for a visa. As a home owner you would be eligible for a “homes owners residence card”, which would need to be renewed annually, allowing the holder and family the right to stay on the Island for the duration of the card.
